The Borg cybernetic physiology stands in for Huxley's advanced state eugenics directive. The collective purpose to "assimilate" all into the collective is the very core objective of collectivist thought from Marx to Fabian socialism to modern transnational progressivism. The central authority of the Borg ( or queen) represents the technocratic utopian concept of a philosopher king.

All in all the Borg was an allegory pulled right from the impetus of "brave new world"...and as we saw in that story, any attempts by man to construct a utopia using coercive organizational force always ends in some form of despotic dystopia....most notably one where man must loose his individualist human nature to think critically/independently and become an unthinking insensate automaton of a synthetically manufactured collective.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5139173408957779354.post-50224850141002052512007-06-25T09:59:00.000+10:002007-06-25T09:59:00.000+10:00Well done!
